Driftwood - Dartmouth - Overview
A quirky, charming apartment, painstakingly restored by its current owner. Driftwood is full of character and has more than just a hint of The Onedin Line. A very comfortable and homely feel. Open plan dining area and lounge (river views over rooftops from lounge window) with door leading to roof terrace providing panoramic views of the Dart estuary, the town and the Kinswear valley across the river.
As can be seen from the photos, this is certainly not a 'run of the mill' holiday apartment. Driftwood will appeal strongly to those with a sense of style, individuality and (nautical!) adventure. The location is superb - within (extremely) close proximity to the river and town. The apartment - part of a large converted townhouse - was painstakingly renovated over two years by the owner - an internationally renowned maritime artist / designer - and was featured in the prestigious property magazine "25 Beautiful Homes".
Much of the furniture and many of the internal fittings have been created from materials salvaged from boats and ships as well as driftwood from the estuary - the dining room table came from a decommissioned river launch.
Featured in "25 Beautiful Homes Magazine" Fifty metres from estuary embankment. Roof terrace with stunning estuary & town views . Beautiful nautical theme . River views from lounge window
Note: not suitable for guests with limited mobility due to stairs leading from street entrance to front door and access from lounge to roof terrace by way of steps with handrail.
